Diesel generator has become  choice for people whenever electric power is on high demand. The generator capacity has increased dramatically thru years of development as single unit cannot satisfy the growing power demand anymore, it requires two or more units in parallel to meet the capacity requirement. How do you size the unit capacity and number of units required?

    The generator size and quantity can be decided according to the emergency load demand, loading sequence and maximum inrush capacity of motor load. When emergency load are high, multiple units can run in parallel, like 2-4 sets in parallel. If restriction on parallel apply in some area, then units can run individually and provide power separately. When electric harmonic are high in the system, the resonance impact on generators should be considered.
